Dynamic Map Platform Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO & President: Shuichi Yoshimura; “Dynamic Map Platform”) is pleased to announce the launch of a new solution that supports the development and management of bridge and tunnel clearance information for transportation authorities (Departments of Transportation: DOTs) in North America, leveraging High-Precision 3D Data that the Company has built up across the United States and Canada for mobility applications.

In the United States, approximately 15,000 bridge strikes occur every year*, making the accurate measurement and timely updating of bridge and tunnel clearance (vertical clearance) information a critical issue. In addition, road resurfacing can reduce vertical clearance by several inches, requiring continuous updates to keep data accurate. Furthermore, recent regulatory updates have prompted U.S. state transportation authorities to manage bridge information in greater detail, increasing the need for more granular data, including clearance information.
Traditional measurement methods often require on-site surveys, traffic control, and lane closures, posing safety and cost challenges. In contrast, the Company uses dedicated survey vehicles equipped with advanced Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS) to collect High-Precision 3D Data while driving at normal traffic speeds, minimizing the impact on traffic flow.
In addition, Dynamic Map Platform has built up approximately 1.5 million kilometers of road data across 48 U.S. states and all of Canada, including information on approximately 250,000 bridges and overpasses and around 2,000 tunnels. By leveraging this large-scale existing data asset, the Company can support the efficient development and updating of bridge and tunnel clearance information.
Dynamic Map Platform’s High-Precision 3D Data can be delivered in formats compliant with the SNBI (Specification for the National Bridge Inventory), the U.S. standard for bridge inventory management. It is also designed for integration with existing operational environments, including GIS and 3D data management platforms, enabling its use in bridge asset management workflows.

Through years of building High-Precision 3D Data for autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), the Company has accumulated extensive road data across North America. This new initiative expands the use of these mobility-oriented data assets into the field of infrastructure asset management.
While this solution is initially being launched in the North American market, the underlying technology and expertise can also be applied to infrastructure asset management in Japan, and the Company is exploring its potential use in the domestic market.
Dynamic Map Platform also introduced this solution at the ITS America Conference & Expo 2026, held in Detroit, USA in June 2026, and exchanged views with visitors including representatives from U.S. state transportation authorities.
