In February 2026, Rajeev Joshi was appointed President of Dynamic Map Platform North America, Inc. (DMP NA).
With more than 30 years of experience across automotive software, ADAS, telematics, and high-precision mapping, he brings a disciplined execution mindset to the company’s next phase of growth. In this interview, he discusses DMP NA’s role in the North American mobility market, the importance of global collaboration, and his leadership priorities for sustainable growth.

―You recently took on the role of President of DMP NA. What are your initial thoughts?
Rajeev Joshi(hereinafter “Rajeev“): I am honored to take on this role following Chris’s retirement.
DMP NA is entering an important new phase. Our opportunity is to build on our strong production experience, sharpen our strategic priorities, and create a more scalable and competitive business for the future.
―We understand you held an all-hands meeting shortly after assuming the role. What was the objective?
Rajeev:During periods of change, leaders need to provide clarity of direction. My goal is to help people understand where the business is going, how their work contributes to customer value, and how we can succeed together. When teams share a common understanding of priorities, they can move faster and make better decisions.
On my first day, I held an all-hands meeting to discuss our current position, growth opportunities, and key priorities. Establishing a shared understanding helps teams align around common goals and make better day-to-day decisions.
―Tell us about your career background. What experiences have shaped your leadership approach?
Rajeev:I have spent more than 30 years in the automotive and mobility technology industry. I began my career at Ford Motor Company, and later held leadership roles at Visteon, Magna, and KPIT Technologies, with responsibilities across software development, product management, program execution, and organizational leadership.
My experience spans high-definition mapping, ADAS, infotainment, electrification, and telematics. Across these areas, I have focused on helping customers deploy complex technologies safely, reliably, and at scale. That experience continues to shape how I view execution, innovation, and long-term value creation.
These principles continue to shape my approach to leading businesses built around high-precision geospatial products.

―How has your software background influenced your management philosophy?
Rajeev:My software background has instilled a strong sense of discipline.
Software leadership teaches you how to turn complexity into structured execution. It requires clear requirements, realistic planning, quality gates, risk management, and measurable progress. Those same principles are very relevant to managing a business built around high-precision geospatial products.
Equally important is understanding how technical decisions translate into business value. At Dynamic Map Platform, I believe it is critical to improve efficiency through automation and advanced data utilization while maintaining data freshness and quality, ultimately strengthening our overall competitiveness.
―What kind of organization and business would you like DMP NA to become?
Rajeev:I want DMP NA to be recognized as a trusted provider of high-precision geospatial data and digital infrastructure supporting advanced driver assistance, autonomous driving, and next-generation mobility services. As vehicles and mobility services become increasingly software-defined, accurate and timely spatial data will play a critical role in helping systems understand the road environment. DMP NA’s role is to provide trusted data and technology that helps customers improve safety, scalability, and confidence in advanced mobility applications.
Importantly, growth itself is not the goal. We aim for disciplined and sustainable growth supported by strong customer relationships, global collaboration, and continuous improvement. Creating organizational stability, clarifying priorities, and accountability, and ensuring that employees understand how their work contributes to customer and group-wide value are all critical to achieving that vision. We must also continue investing in automation, AI-enabled workflows, and next-generation geospatial technologies that improve scalability, quality, and customer value.
―What do you see as DMP NA’s key strengths in the North American market?
Rajeev:Requirements for high-definition mapping continue to become more sophisticated across North America. In that environment, I believe DMP NA has three key strengths.
First, we have a proven track record supporting production automotive programs where reliability, safety, and quality are essential.
Second, we have deep expertise in lane-level road mapping, where precision, coverage, and data freshness are essential as driver assistance systems expand into more complex operating environments. Third, we have the ability to continuously evolve both our technology and operating model to meet growing expectations for scalability, data freshness, and efficiency.
―How should the growth of the North American business contribute to the broader DMP Group?
Rajeev:North America is a highly dynamic market for mobility and advanced driving technologies. DMP NA can create value for the broader group through close customer relationships and real-time market insights.
In addition, operational practices developed in North America—including automation, change management, and scalable operational excellence —can be standardized and leveraged across regions, contributing to greater efficiency, consistency, and scalability throughout the group.

―What is most important to you when it comes to people and organizational leadership?
Rajeev:Commitment to quality, reliability, and professionalism. These are essential to earning and maintaining the trust of customers and partners.
In addition, I strongly value an ownership mindset and a one-team culture. When individuals take responsibility for outcomes and collaborate across functions and regions toward shared goals, the organization becomes stronger.
―What do you consider most important when collaborating with global teams, including Japan?
Rajeev:Alignment, transparency, and mutual respect. When priorities are clear and communication is consistent, global collaboration becomes a significant competitive advantage.
My goal is to ensure that teams across regions operate with a common strategic direction, clearly defined responsibilities, and a common understanding of success. Japan and North America each bring unique strengths. By connecting those strengths through transparent communication and accountability, we can create greater value for customers and build a stronger, more competitive DMP Group.
―On a more personal note, how do you spend your time outside work?
Rajeev:Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, listening to music, learning new musical instruments, and playing recreational sports. Trying new things is a great way to recharge.
I also closely follow Detroit sports, especially American football, where the short season makes every game feel important.

―Finally, do you have a message for employees, customers, and other stakeholders?
Rajeev:First, I want to thank our employees for their dedication and professionalism. DMP NA has entered a new phase focused on stability, clarity, and sustainable growth. I am committed to leading with transparency and accountability while working with our team to build a strong future.
To our customers, partners, and stakeholders, we remain committed to delivering consistent results and long-term value creation. By aligning strategy and operations across the group, we will continue to grow responsibly as one organization.
Closing
DMP NA will continue strengthening its role in the North American market by delivering high-precision geospatial data that supports advanced mobility, customer innovation, and long-term value creation. Under Rajeev’s leadership, DMP North America is focused on helping customers unlock greater value from high-precision geospatial data while supporting the growth of advanced mobility technologies. As part of the broader DMP Group, the organization will continue strengthening global collaboration and disciplined execution as it enters its next phase of growth. We look forward to sharing more of our progress in the future.
