(Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO & President: Shuichi Yoshimura; “Dynamic Map Platform”) is pleased to announce that, together with its group company Dynamic Map Platform North America, Inc., it has newly developed approximately 300,000 kilometers of High-Precision 3D Map Data in North America, expanding its data coverage to approximately 1.5 million kilometers. With this expansion, the total data held by Dynamic Map Platform has reached approximately 1.8 million kilometers globally, making it one of the largest coverage areas in the world.
Our high-precision 3D map data provides information on real objects*1 and virtual objects*2 necessary for autonomous driving with centimeter-level accuracy. The approximately 1.5 million kilometers of North American data recently completed includes major roads*3 such as Motorway and Trunk in the United States and Canada. We will continue to expand this data primarily for autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), contributing further to the realization of safe and comfortable hands-free driving and the global advancement of autonomous driving technology.
